A man was shot and killed by police in Butler after stabbing an officer Tuesday morning, Pennsylvania State Police said.Watch the breaking news report from Butler: Click the video player above.The injured officer was flown to UPMC Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh and was in critical condition with multiple stab wounds, Trooper Josh Black said.The man who was killed was identified by police as John Ebberts, 35, of Butler.Black said the incident happened shortly before 7 a.m., as the Butler officer was responding to a 911 call about a man acting erratically and jumping in and out of traffic in the 300 block of West Jefferson Street.Police give update on Butler incident: Click the video above to watch.The injured officer was not identified.
